I founded Neurodiverse Health to:
- Confront the fact that there are implicit, pervasive structures, systems and ways of delivering healthcare that do not take into account the sheer diversity of human neurology and experience. Because of this, barriers and disparities abound when it comes to autistic and neurodivergent health and healthcare experiences.
- Address the myriad symptoms and conditions that so many autistic and neurodivergent patients experience - symptoms and conditions that are so often dismissed, minimized, invalidated, missed, poorly understood, and under-studied by the current healthcare system.
- Affirm that healthcare as a human right (and I mean healthcare as truly nurturing health, not just providing treatment for disease) absolutely applies to autistic and neurodivergent people.
- Elevate and center the health, wellbeing and voices of autistic and neurodivergent people.
